A DOG STORY

We currently run 5 adult Great Pyrenees and one 12

week old pup with our goats.  All our Great Pyrenees

puppies are born in and around the pens with our goats. 

 They are raised with the goats and are allowed to run

with them at all times. The momma dog and the other

dogs along with the goats teach them their boundaries. 

 Most of our dogs have a very friendly nature, but know

to keep their distance and keep their minds on their work.

 We are amazed by the natural instinct the Great Pyrenees

 possess.  The way they work as a team when danger is

 around, would make any drill sergeant proud. Each dog

has his or her place in the herd.  We have seen our dogs

sit in the middle of the road, blocking traffic as the goats

 cross from the adjoining pasture.  Mingled in with the

goats will be the other four dogs.  Every 10 - 20 goats

there will be a Great Pyrenees. When the last goat and

trailing dog cross the road, the one sitting in the

middle of the road will then follow the herd.

has had to wait until the dog got out of the road

 before he could drive on by.
